About Pink satin pearls program

The Pink Satin Pearls Program is a biennial fundraiser for DC Pearls III Foundation working together with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Rho Mu Omega Chapter. The program is for elementary school young girls ages 6 to 10. The Pink Satin Pearls Program emerged from the DC Pearls III Foundation Pearl Ball Cotillion. Through support from contestants, parents, chapter members, local businesses, and the community, funds are raised to benefit our programs, including community service initiatives and academic scholarships for students attending college. Our Pink Satin Pearls program is designed to promote academic excellence, to reinforce strong leadership skills and to cultivate personal and social growth. These goals are attained through months of dedicated efforts culminating in an elegant pageant held in the spring of odd-numbered years.

It provides young girls with the opportunity to experience community and lifelong learning activities. It gives them a window into the world of being a Pearl Ball Debutante while nurturing and developing their curiosity of the world around them.

What are we looking for in a pink satin pearl?
